Summary:
Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of medical claims to third party insurance companies.
Ensure correct charges on claims to maximize reimbursement.
Effectively communicates with other departments to obtain information needed for billing.
Provide necessary documentation required by insurance companies to process claims.
Performs duties in accordance with goals established by Patient Financial Services Management.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
One Year experience in a Hospital/Medical business office setting required.
UB04 and/or 1500 billing experience required.
Understanding of 837I preferred.
Medical Terminology helpful and familiarity with CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding.
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
Must be proficient with a 10 key calculator, detail oriented with a good numeric aptitude and typing skills of 35 wpm with accuracy.
Ability to demonstrate communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and multi-task while working in a collaborative, team environment with a positive attitude.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work under deadlines.
